RWE group companies are among the most important sponsors and donors in the Czech Republic. RWE has been traditionally a part of the prestige festival Prague Spring or International Film Festival Karlovy Vary, and its has been connected with the preparations of the Czech Olympic and Paralympics teams.

As of 2006, sponsorship activities of RWE Transgas were unified with the six regional distribution companies. RWE group companies in the Czech Republic started two new long-term projects focused on the support of culture – Czech film and sports - skiing. RWE group companies in the Czech Republic distribute over 80 mio CZK yearly for these activities and other charity donations.

The RWE’s humanitarian activity is focused namely on help to children, senior citizens and handicapped. This charity support is provided by the company namely via non-profit organizations and foundations, to which RWE participates as a long-term and stable partner. Among the most important partners of RWE in charity are Nadace Charty 77 – Konto Bariery (Foundation of Charta 77 - Account for Barriers), to which RWE is the general partner, Nadace Naše dítě (Our Child Foundation), to which RWE is the patron, and furthermore the association Život 90 (Life 90), taking care of senior citizens and Nadace Academia Medica Pragensis (Academia Medica Pragensis Foundation), via which RWE donates to health research and ecology.
